Pear tarte tatin

Ingredients

  • 1 kilo of pears

  • 200 g brownie sugar

  • 150 g butter

  • 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract

  • 1 sheet of pre made puff pastry



Instructions


Pre heat oven to 175°C


Half and core the pears.


Smear butter around all of the pie dish and dot with pieces of butter.

Pour in the sugar to cover the bottom.


Place the pear half’s flesh side down neatly on top of the sugar and drizzle with the vanilla extract. Place some more pieces of butter in and around the pears.


Next take your puff pastry ( pre made or home made its entirely up to you )

Place it on top of the pears and fold down the edges.


Make a hole in the middle to release some of the hot air when cooking.

Bake for 50 minutes at 175°C


Remove from the oven and leave to cool for 10 minutes before flipping the tarte over.


Serve with whipped cream and enjoy
